Making Progress

My big project, my Texas fossils coloring and activity book, is taking a while to complete. I’m teaching myself to use Adobe Illustrator and Fresco, while also transitioning to drawing with an Apple pencil on an ipad instead of using traditional pencil or paint. Can you tell that I like to challenge myself? lol

I have been so inspired by our fossil hunting trips around the state and beyond that I just can’t wait to share the coloring pages they have inspired! I have so many fun shapes and interesting facts about these ancient creatures to share with inquisitive kids and even adults who might want to color and learn a little along the way.

I couldn’t wait to share some of my fossil drawings, so I used some of the material I’m creating for my coloring book to create a small 3-page pack of Texas fossil coloring pages. Each page has hand drawn fossil pictures to color, along with a name and a little information about each fossil.

If you click on the picture preview below, you will be taken to my etsy shop. Once there, if you can’t wait for the whole book to be finished either, you can download this coloring page pack for just $1!

I’ll also have this page available on my Teachers Pay Teachers shop :)

North Texas Shark Teeth Fossils

Check out some of the inspiration for my coloring book! It is so exciting to walk through a dry riverbed, scanning the gravel, and then to see one of these guys just hidden among the rocks! It’s crazy to think that Texas was once covered in an ocean with prehistoric sharks swimming around!
